Dave Farrar predicts the Colorado Rapids will continue their strong form against FC Dallas in this weekend's tips free soccer
Ride the Rapids
Colorado Rapids v FC Dallas
Monday, 00:30
The post season chances of the Colorado Rapids are just about gone, but their recent form can't be ignored. I took a logical flier on them at Toronto a couple of weeks ago and they came up just short, but followed that with a victory against SKC, and now they're back at home facing an FC Dallas team who must win lá»›n give themselves a big play off chance on the final weekend- According lá»›n the soccer handicap tip page!
I can't help but feel that the Texans blew a massive opportunity last weekend against NYCFC though, and momentum (an overused but relevant word at this time of the season) is clearly not with them. They've now failed to win in three, failed to score in their last two away games, and look set lá»›n fail again.
Robin Fraser's work with the Rapids might just make them a team to watch next season, and there's a real feelgood factor about the place as they play with freedom and tick just about every box for a form team at the end of an unsuccessful campaign. They're fearless, they've scored 11 times in their last five games, and they look well placed for another win here, leaving Dallas desolate once again.
Salt Lake surge
RSL v Houston Dynamo
Monday, 00:30
When these two sides drew 1-1 on the opening day of this MLS campaign, you wouldn't have guessed their respective trajectories. Houston eventually sinking like a stone, RSL with an excellent chance of continuing their efforts into October.
RSL have stumbled at a crucial time, but there's a lot on this game, and I think that they have enough about them lá»›n come away with a win and put themselves in an excellent position on Decision Day. They may have failed lá»›n win four of their last five, and lost here against LA Galaxy in midweek, but Houston have proved themselves lá»›n be desperately poor travellers.
The Dynamo have lost their last six away games, and 14 of 16 road matches throughout the course of the season. It has been the source of their slump, and I just can't see how RSL fail to beat them. The home team can be frustrating, but not THAT frustrating, and they rate a decent bet at 1.80 to get the job done here.
